Congratulations to the LSOA Winners of the 2024 K12 Photography Competition
The 2024 K12 Photography Competition boasted more than 12,000 entries from talented students nationwide. Among those were 212 submissions from students at Lone Star Online Academy.
This annual competition celebrates the artistic skills of kindergarten through 12th grade students and provides a platform for them to showcase their unique perspectives through the camera lens.
A total of $20,000 in cash prizes were awarded to this year’s winners! In each grade level, the 1st place winner received $1,000, the 2nd place winner took home $500, and the People’s Choice winner—selected through public voting—earned $100.
We’re incredibly proud of every student who participated, whether as a first-time competitor or a seasoned photographer. Even more exciting, we are thrilled to announce that three of our students from Lone Star Online Academy were among the winners!

“I took my photograph of the bright beautiful sun in the pretty bright sky here in Houston, TX. Then, I noticed a blue light shining through the clouds. I’m not sure what the blue light is, but it is sooo amazing to have been able to capture it!”
Hunter
1st Place, 6th Grade

We couldn’t be prouder of Kathy, Abigail, and Hunter for their incredible achievements in this year’s competition. Their unique vision and dedication truly shined in their photography, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to evolve and flourish as artists.
At Lone Star Online Academy, we’re committed to providing opportunities for our students to explore their talents and passions. The success of our participants in the K12 Photography Competition is a true testament to that. We can’t wait to see even more inspiring entries in future competitions!
